Dr. Lourdes Bernadette “Tippy” Sumpaico-Tanchanco, MD, MSc, FPPS, FPSDBP

Dr. Tippy is the clinic director and practicing developmental-behavioral pediatrician at MedMom Institute for Human Development. She is also an Associate Professor at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. She graduated from the Ateneo de Manila, BS Biology program. She then proceeded to study Medicine at the UERMMMC where she graduated with honors. She took her residency and fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at the UP-PGH and completed her Master of Science in Epidemiology (Clinical Epidemiology) at the UP-Manila. She has also been invited to numerous conferences, both locally and internationally, to present her research studies and to speak as an expert in her field. Dr. Tippy is certified in using the Griffith’s Mental Development Scale and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule. She is also certified as a Basic DIRFloortime practitioner after completing her training with the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning.

Dr. Tippy enjoys working and goofing around young children. She finds joy in teaching and mentoring young minds. She believes in the power of prayer and the miracle of resilience. During her free time, Dr. Tippy loves dancing and trying new stuff. She is married to Dr. Obet, a nephrologist, and they have 3 children who she considers her greatest teachers in the field of child development.

Dr. Angel Belle Dy


Dr. Angel Belle C. Dy, RMT, MD, MBA

Dr. Angel is the clinic manager at MedMom. She graduated from UP-Manila, BS Public Health program. She then received her MD and MBA degrees under the dual degree program of the Ateneo de Manila Unviersity School of Medicine and Public Health and completed the International Training Program in Neurodevelopmental Disorders from the University of California, Davis MIND Institute. She is currently enrolled at the London University to complete her Master of Science in Demography and Health. Dr. Angel is a faculty member at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health teaching her passion for public health, child health and human development. She has also received her certification as a Basic DIRFloortime practitioner from the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning. Aside from her manegerial duties, she is a member of MedMom’s Early Intervention Program and provides developmental surveillance and monitoring for high risk infants and toddlers in partnership with the developmental-behavioral pediatricians.

Dr. Angel enjoys traveling, playing the piano, reading and doting on her nieces and nephews.

Ms. Patricia Carmela Yap

Transdisciplinary Service:

Patricia Carmel "Poy" L. Yap, LPT, MA

Teacher Poy, as she is so fondly called, is a graduate of the Ateneo De Manila University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies - Psychology and Education track. She has a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology also from the Ateneo and is a Licensed Professional Teacher. She has a certificate to teach Special Education and is a Basic Floortime Provider. Teacher Poy has been working with children since 2009 and began her work with special children and their families in 2013. She is presently a Play Facilitator for the We Play Early Intervention Program and heads the Transdisciplinary Programs team.

Teacher Poy is one to break into song along the hallways of Medmom but besides her interest for music, she loves food more and enjoys it best with good company.

Dr. Joanna Herrera, Psy.D

Psychology Services:

Dr. Joanna Herrera, Psy.D

Dr. Joanna “Jabby” Herrera is a Child and Family Psychologist who has a Masters in Psychology (MA) and a Doctor in Psychology (Psy.D.). She received both degrees from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California USA. Dr. Herrera has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University. Her training and work experience has focused on providing services to children/youth (from infancy through adolescence) and their families. She completed her doctoral internship with the Department of Psychiatry, Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland (CHRCO) and participated in a post-doctoral training program in Early Childhood Mental Health also at CHRCO. Dr. Herrera has been a Clinical Supervisor and Program Director of community mental health services in the San Francisco and Alameda Counties in California. She is licensed by the California Board of Psychology and is a member of the Psychological Association of the Philippines and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Herrera believes in actively collaborating with parents and other significant people in the child’s life to create a strong nurturing environment where children can become their best. She is grateful to be in a field that provides the opportunity to witness and be part of positive transformation in people’s lives.

Dr. Herrera loves cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her nephews and niece.

MedMom PT Hosanna Camacho

Physical and Occupational Therapy Service:

Hosanna Say-Camacho, PT, DPT

Hosanna is the head of the physical and occupational therapy department at Medmom. Hosanna graduated from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, USA and has more than 20 years of experience practicing in pediatrics and neurological rehabilitation. Hosanna has completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ, USA. Hosanna is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT), and Kinesiotaping (KT). Hosanna has an extensive background in pediatrics and works with children utilizing the Early Intervention (birth to three), educational (school age), and medical standards for patient care. Hosanna is licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of California and is a member of the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and Kinesio Taping Association International (KTAI).

During her spare time, Hosanna enjoys building quality time with her husband and three kids. She loves traveling, scrapbooking, and reading.

Avry Umali-Andal

Avry Umali-Andal, MS, OTR/L, OTRP

Avry is the team head for the Occupational Therapy Department at MedMom. She received her bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Santo Tomas in Manila. She completed her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA, USA. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist and has an advance practice certification in physical agent modalities in California. Avry has a well-rounded experience across the continuum of development as she has practiced in many settings in California and provided services from pediatric to the geriatric population. Avry has trained in various clinical assessment and interventions such as TalkTools for feeding, Rhythmic Movement Training, assistive technology, and mCIMT for pediatrics to name a few, to provide her with better tools to help her clients. Her field of professional interests are clinical education, neuromotor conditions and disorders, and early intervention.

Avry enjoys spending time with her family at the end of the day. She enjoys watching movies, cooking, and traveling.

Kathlyn C. Ambayec

Speech-Language Pathology Services:

Kathlyn C. Ambayec

Teacher Kat heads the Speech-Language Pathology department at MedMom. She has over two decades of experience in private practice, starting from the time she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology degree from the University of the Philippines-Manila in 1996.

Teacher Kat enjoys working and playing with children and she specializes in evaluation and intervention of children 1.5 to 15 years old. She is committed to the children she serves and believes in looking for children’s strengths and using these to enhance their weaknesses or limitations. Teacher Kat is PROMPT Trained and a DIRFloortime Practitioner.

Her passion for working with children has also been the driving force for trailblazing events such as Camp MedMom and Playlympics 2018, which she spearheaded.

In her spare time, Teacher Kat also enjoys tennis and hiking.

Julius Animas Bernal

Julius Animas Bernal, MA

Teacher Jaybee is the SPED Team Head at MedMom. He is involved in the education and care of exceptional children and adults in collaboration with their schools, families, therapists, psychologists, and developmental pediatrician for 15 years. He received a BS in Psychology Degree at Silliman University. He also completed his MA Degree in Education major in Special Education at the University of the Philippines. At present, he is earning his Doctorate Degree in Education major in Innovative Educational Management at The University of Makati.

Teacher Jaybee likes to take walks and play tennis during his free time.
