A. Physical Therapy

Pediatric Physical Therapists focus on evaluation and treatment of children with gross motor limitations resulting from injury, disease, congenital conditions, or developmental delay, with an emphasis on movement dysfunction. Pediatric Physical Therapists assess a child’s individual needs, determine equipment needs, consult with caregivers, and use a team-oriented approach with other professionals to develop a plan of care specific to each child. The therapeutic intervention addresses muscle strength, range of motion, postural control, balance, motor planning, safety, and motor delays. These interventions help maximize a child’s ability to access his/her environment safely and as independently as possible, achieve motor milestones, and reach his/her fullest potential. They are trained in all stages of a child’s development and able to analyze movement. They use exercise, play, functional activities, games, therapeutic handling, and modalities as treatment techniques to entice children to work hard and exercise to promote the highest level of independent function.

B. Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy team helps infants, children and adolescents participate in everyday activities or occupations. Interventions are designed to cater to the individual’s needs that enable them to “participate in activities that they need to do, want to do and are expected to do”. (WFOT 2011)

C. Speech and Language Therapy

Our speech and language pathologists evaluate and treat conditions dealing with speech, language and communication, and swallowing. Conditions that are addressed include language delay, specific language impairments, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, physical disabilities including cerebral palsy, among others.
